installation completed

Engine is fitted and now running, ignition coils are triggered by the ECU and radiator fan is controlled by the ECU. Injectors are 360cc which will give me plenty of fuel. Dyno showed just under 240hp at only 6psi of boost, I am going to change the turbo and try to up the boost to 15psi, then we will see how it goes!!

Recent Success...

Here is a video from a little while back taken while drag racing, this video featuring our previous project whick was a Mk1 golf with a 2.0 litre Turbo engine making 206 bhp at the time.

1.3 8v Removed!

24/8/07 Original 1.3 eight-valve engine Vacates car...

The old, tired and original engine of the 'A' reg golf recently vacated the chassis to the far superior 2.8 litre VR6 engine that started life in a Volkswagen Sharon.
We plan to install it into the golf and use a Garett T4 Turbo and aim for 300bhp. After taking measurements, it should fit with a squeeze. Some relocation may be required though.

Tech Talk:

The difference between a 'V6' and a 'VR6'...

V6:

Notice how the cylinders are in banks of three and are in a 'V' Formation, That is how this is called a V6.
'V'=V formation,'6'=Six Cylinders

VR6:

Notice how instead of going outwards like a normal V6, the cylinder go inwards creating an 'X' formation as the cylinders cross so if you took the Head off of the engine then It would look something like ֹֹֹּּּ as the cylinders zig-zag.
